IIP Findings for Good Practice Award
Here is a report summarising the stakeholder and employer findings into a potential second Good Practice Award in Leadership and Management. The research that took place between September and December last year involved 15 stakeholder interviews and 5 employer focus groups at IIP Centres in Yorkshire and Humberside, North West, East Midlands, Eastern England and Wales involving 50 employers. Thank you for taking part in the Stakeholder consultation, it was great to meet you and hear your thoughts and opinions.
The research has concluded that employers and stakeholders believe the IIP framework is a sound and proven tool to help organisations develop and deploy their leadership and management capability. IIP provides the right structure and a good mix of topics, however external recognition in Leadership and Management is of interest to employers.
The report recommends that a Leadership and Management themed assessment using the IIP framework should be the way forward with some form of recognised certificate. This way acknowledging that recognition is important but using the IIP framework as the vehicle to add value in Leadership and Management as opposed to an Award.
A number of new topic areas have been highlighted in the report that currently sit outside of the IIP framework, the report recommends that these new areas are explored further at the next review of the IIP framework.
IIP moves to the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) from the 1st April 10. The UKCES will consider these findings and the recommendations and make a decision going forward about what happens next.
Thank you once again for taking part,
