1.2 The Manager Development Network (MDN) is a joint venture between IHM Scotland and NHS Education for Scotland, designed to provide junior, middle and practice health and social care managers across the country with a range of opportunities to enhance their personal and professional development, network with and learn from colleagues, share good practice and build their CPD portfolios.

2. Leading to Deliver is a major initiative to provide a leadership development programme targeted at first-line and middle managers in local authority and voluntary sectors. The programme is based on research undertaken by the Scottish Leadership Foundation (SLF) on behalf of the Scottish Executive which looked at the training and development needs of managers in the sector and the challenges they face in providing and managing social work services.

It provides an exciting and challenging opportunity and is designed to build the leadership capabilities of managers and help them deliver high quality services in a changing context. Those successfully completing the programme will gain the Postgraduate Certificate in Social Services Leadership accredited by The Robert Gordon University.
