Scotland Update March 2010

Overview

Scottish Government Review of Management and Leadership

From the Scottish Government’s work on Skills Utilisation, it had been agreed that it is necessary to review management and leadership in Scotland. This is in order to recommend action on how best to improve productivity levels by encouraging progressive and innovative leadership and management in workplaces in Scotland.

The purpose of the current phase of evidence gathering is to build an evidence base to inform (a) decisions on the scope, timing and nature of further work; and (b) subsequent consideration of the issues.

The Alliance has submitted papers to this review:

The Scottish Government is currently considering the evidence and feedback submitted, and will go to Ministers with recommendations, following a discussion at the Skills Utilisation Leadership Group on 13 April 2010.  Following this meeting Scottish Government will update partners on the next steps for this work.
