Management Standards continued
Main areas of focus:
- Ongoing review and development of the NOS;
- Endorsing the contextualisation and tailoring of the NOS;
- Approving and reviewing qualifications based on the NOS.
This project has seen the successful pilot of the Management Standards Champion model - SSC representatives who promote the Management and Leadership NOS in their sectors, and help support contextualisation and importation decisions via a peer review process.
14 Management Standards Champions have been appointed to date - over half of the SfBN network has now nominated a Champion, representing nine million employers. (Details are available from the Management Standards Centre on: 0207 240 2826)
Wider engagement across the SfBN, via the Champions, allows the network to feed into qualification developments including Apprenticeship framework reviews, Foundation Degree developments, the Sector Qualification Strategy for Management and Leadership and the QCA led Apprenticeship qualification project.
Some measure of success can be demonstrated by:
- 3000 copies of the NOS disseminated to employers and representative bodies
- 91 instances of use by Sector Skills Councils and other skill bodies
- 5823 enquiries regarding the standards
Ongoing dissemination events, including within Regional Development Agencies and Regional Skills Partnership areas, and across the devolved administrations.
Copies of the M & L NOS are available from the Management Standards Centre: msc.managers.org.uk
Please note, if the colour and layout of the new NOS cause problems (e.g. to visually impaired visitors) black and white word versions are available from the MSC. Updated:
